The debut CD, "Love Boat" really took me by storm. That nice, rocking and warped music didnīt quite sound like anything else. The follow up "Straight Up to the Sky" does follow Itīs footsteps. The peculiar voice of singer Eva Lalander together with the desolate pump-organ color the tunes with a melancholic shimmer and form a music landscape all on itīs own. Bended guitar skeletons shake up the melancholy and sometimes itfeels like everything will burst into some uncontrollable madness. But it doesnīt. In a way it is rather soft like patting a cat against itīs fur and suddenly feel the catīs body getting tense. The music of Eve and the Last Waltz have some Dylan- influencesthat gets evident in songs like "A Thousand Years". But this warped and almost can-like sound is foremost characterized by an exciting originality. A total listening experience. TORBJÖRN CARLSSON, PITEÅ TIDNINGEN
